About
I'm Alliv Samson, an entrepreneur, investor, mother and Filipino immigrant who calls Aotearoa New Zealand home. I co-founded Kami, the edtech company used by more than 75 million teachers and students worldwide, growing it from a small Auckland startup to a successful exit. Alongside my partner Hengjie Wang, I was recently named EY New Zealand Entrepreneur of the Year.
Today, my work lives at the intersection of education and entrepreneurship: through Hiraya Ventures, I back globally ambitious Kiwi founders, and through the Hiraya Foundation, I'm building something for the next generation of dreamers. Hiraya is a Filipino word meaning the fruit of one's hopes, dreams, and aspirations, and that's the thread tying it all together.
